EMASI Nam Long – September 2022 Bulletin

Dear EMASI families,

Our first full month of school, September served as an ideal month to start our extra-curricular activities and celebrate mid-Autumn festival and our first annual “Water Day”. ECA’s provide students additional time after the academic day to develop hobbies of interest.

Besides these opportunities, we used our mid-Autumn festival to educate students about this Vietnamese cultural day with traditional dress and performances. We also had a Saturday morning (September 17th) dedicated to the importance of water safety that featured a performance from a professional underwater aquatics dance group. That same Saturday afternoon, our two college counseling partners—CIALFO based in Hanoi and Shorelight based in Boston, USA—met with Grade 12 families interested in higher education here in Vietnam and abroad.

To conclude the month, high school students also had the opportunity to meet with representatives from the University of Notre Dame, USA, and Stanstead College, Canada. Lastly, we had student elections and our SGO group is now in place—congratulations to the families and students working in our student government.

A sneak peak into October shows our primary students having a chance to compete in a Reading Comprehension contest sponsored by RAZ Kids (please check the attached file for more information). Good luck to them! We hope this video below gives you an opportunity to see how your child(ren) enjoy studying and playing at school. We anticipate a wonderful upcoming October with lots of meaningful intellectual and emotional learning as well.

Best regards,

Mr. Christopher Mark McDonald,
Managing Director, EMASI Nam Long
