Science and Engineering Fair with their project on “The Role of Education in Shaping and Fostering Patriotism”

The project “The Role of Education in Shaping and Fostering Patriotism,” conducted by Thai Do Gia Bao and Tran Hai Thu, 12E students at EMASI Vạn Phúc, explores the essential role of education in nurturing and developing patriotism among youth. Motivated by the observed gap between historical education and the real emotional connection to national identity, the project aims to investigate how educational content and methods impact students’ awareness and feelings of patriotism.

The research employed surveys of middle and high school students, interviews, and practical experiments such as building an interactive website showcasing historical sites, to promote experiential learning. Results indicated that while history education fosters understanding, emotional engagement and experiential activities significantly strengthen patriotic feelings. Notably, students’ love for history did not always correlate directly with their level of patriotism, emphasizing that personal awareness and lived experiences play critical roles.

The study concludes that combining traditional education with modern technology and real-world experiences offers an effective strategy to cultivate patriotism, highlighting the need for educational innovation in an era of globalization.
