EMASI Hardship Aid Program
What Is The Hardship Aid Program?
As we know, the COVID-19 pandemic has radically transformed the lives and well-being of people all over the world. Many organizations, businesses, and households now find themselves facing setbacks as a result of the economic impact of the virus, including the EMASI schools and many families within the community. It was shocking as we noticed some of our EMASI students had to withdraw from the school because their families encountered financial challenges due to the pandemic.
Love and Compassion are core foundational values of the EMASI community. Understanding the difficulties that some families within the community are facing, we want to introduce the EMASI Hardship Aid Program, an initiative designed to support students whose families are experiencing short-term financial hardship. This program will support students to continue their studies and complete the upcoming academic year.
The aid is based solely on financial need, not on merit or academic excellence. It will be managed and monitored by the Hardship Aid Committee, independent of the EMASI Board of Directors to maintain an unbiased, neutral stance.
The Award
Awards can take the form of a partial or full tuition fee payment for the 2021-2022 academic year; or a flexible payment plan, depending on the need and request of the applicants.
Eligibility Criteria
Any student currently registered in an EMASI full year program is eligible to apply for an award should their families encounter financial hardship that is impacting upon their ability to continue their studies.
Please note:
- The aid is applicable only to families of EMASI registered students who have been directly impacted by the pandemic or other events, rendering students unable to continue their studies at EMASI in the immediate term.
- As we all know, resource is always limited. In order to ensure we can support as many cases as possible, families should only apply if support is genuinely needed, thus giving more opportunities to those who are encountering greater hardship.
The Hardship Aid Committee
The Hardship Aid Committee is chaired by EMASI Superintendent – Dr Huynh Cong Minh and his committee who will be able to advocate for the applicant. The Committee is comprised of representative:
- Homeroom teachers
